What is first sakiz?

Sakiz is a Turkish word that translates to "chewing gum" in English. The first Sakiz chewing gum was produced in the mid-19th century by a dentist named Thomas Adams. He was trying to create a replacement for paraffin wax that he could use to make dental impressions. He discovered that chicle, which is a natural latex produced by the sapodilla tree in Central America, was a great material to work with and had a pleasant taste. He began selling chicle gum, which was soon rebranded as Chiclets, and it quickly became popular. The first Sakiz chewing gum was therefore made of chicle and had a sweet taste, which made it appealing to consumers. Today, most chewing gum is made of synthetic materials, but some brands still use chicle, and traditional gum flavors such as peppermint and spearmint remain popular.
